Premature Balding (Premature Hair Loss)

Losing hair is a natural phenomenon and you lose at an average hundred hair a day. It is also part of the body's ageing process as hair fall more and more as you age. Over the period ones life the hair follicle becomes fatigued and brittle hence the production of new hair is ceased.

The major concern is when men find themselves losing hair at an early age. This process which is known as premature balding is a nuisance as it makes the affected older beyond his years. The reason for this process is the increase in production of testosterone after puberty, which is broken down into the hormone (DHT) when it comes into contact with an enzyme found in skin. This inhibits the follicle's ability to produce new hair in the crown region and upper forehead and hence hair fall but don’t grow back so balding occurs.

Nearly one third of all people suffer premature hair loss. The major portion of these people comprise of men. As you age 70% of all people suffer this disorder. It's largely a heredity condition that we can do little about but certain things such as stress and dietary disorders (see balding causes) lead to this problem.

It should be known that, male pattern baldness is a process that cannot be cured. But by spotting early signs of a receding hairline or thinning scalp it is possible to significantly slow down the process. There are certain home made remedies and procedures available that can help reduce the damage as Oral medication or hair transplants can prove to be costly and has variable results. Another option is by putting in creams or colorants that give your hair a thicker look. It is better that you learn the process quickly and then remedy it at an early stage.
